Course Description: The Public Health Foundation (PHF) launched the Quality Improvement (QI) Quick Guide for public health practitioners online in August 2010.  The QI Quick Guide addresses a need identified by public health practitioners for assistance in determining which resources to use as they pursue QI initiatives.  The QI Quick Guide consists of a free web-based QI Tutorial and User Guide, which provide a gateway to hundreds of resources linked from PHF’s Online Resource Centers — the Public Health Improvement Resource Center and the National Public Health Performance Standards Program (NPHPSP) Online Resource Center. The QI Tutorial introduces basic QI concepts and walks through a Plan-Do-Check-Act (PDCA) problem-solving model using a real-world case example. The learning objectives of the QI Tutorial are to to identify QI tools in PHF's online resource centers and list the main problem solving steps of PDCA cycle. It will take approximately 20-30 minutes to complete the QI Tutorial and 10 minutes to complete the QI User Guide.
